Diet and exercise are the first lines of defense when you need to get rid of cellulite. Poor eating habits create a cellulite problem for many people. Reduce the amount of calories in your diet. When you look for ways to do this, cut out the calories from fat first. Emphasize fresh fruits and vegetables, because these provide benefits besides nutrition. They encourage an efficient digestive system and avoid constipation, which also contribute to a cellulite problem. Also, they are high in water content. Water is essential during any diet, as your body must flush away the excess fat, and maintain a proper fluid balance in the subcutaneous layers where cellulite forms.

A diet high in fiber from fruits and vegetables also is high in enzymes, which are believed to be valuable fighting extra weight and cellulite. Enzymes may help to break down the fatty pockets while encouraging the rejuvenation of connective tissue that is elastic and able to create a smooth, cellulite-reduced skin surface.

You can’t get rid of cellulite through diet alone. Add a blend of cardiovascular and anaerobic exercise to your lifestyle, to truly combat cellulite. A cardio workout will increase your metabolism and help burn fat faster all over your body, not just in problem areas. Weight training for anaerobic exercise will tone your muscles, add lean muscle weight and ensure that your body is efficient in metabolizing nutrients.
